Open JonBenet thread

It's a Friday, it's late August, and I'm technically on vacation. For these reasons, I'm just going to create this JonBenet Ramsey killer thread, walk away from the computer, and let anyone who's still online on this lovely August day a chance to wallow.

Here are links to the Associated Press and Boulder Daily Camera archives on the case.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go wash my hands.

The reports of your death have been greatly exaggerated.

Having lived and taught here in Bangkok for three years it doesn't surprise me one bit that this child molester/murderer came here to work. He's not alone. Welcome to Thailand, a magnet for the world's sickest individuals. Hopefully, Thailand will crack down on all of the fake credentials that are the stock in trade for many, many teachers here.

I'm reading that the facts are measuring up to this guy's story so it will be interesting to see what comes of this. If it is true what he's saying he'll get his justice in prison as a child molester...

Have you really thought that one through? Is that really what you would wish on anybody?

What a foolish public and foolish media to waste so much time and energy on a specific domestic law and order issue! Let the local law and order machinery roll it's course. Why so much speculation, so many heated debates and gossip?

This is one thing I do not understand with American Society. It is an educated society, rich people but always get obsessed with rape and murder news. How pathetic. CNN, FOX and Media in general are the real culprit here. They want to push all such nonsensical things into Public's Throat. This is very cheap and shame on all people who engage in hyperbola about this item.

What do you think should be done with people who rape and murder six year old children?

Due to the noteriety in this case, if he's convicted he'll probably be held at the supermax in Florence until the appeals run out. The chance of this guy getting dahmer'd is small.

There are a lot of possibilities. I wouldn't rule out capital punishment. But condemning the guilty to a lifetime of systematic gang rape is not an option in a decent society.

I'm upset because all everybody's been talking about lately is Jon Bene, while the equally important (and equally tragic) story of Natalee Holloway has all but disappeared from the MSM.

Have the DNA results come in yet?

Eric, that's a good one. 'Equally important'. Ha!
